Ok, yesterday was the start of the season for myself and a trip to Hampshire was on the cards to race on the Bentley bypass. Thankfully I had the company of my best mate, so no driving for me.
The race went well, a little nervous to start but this was soon filled with the feeling of excitement. It’s the first time I’ve started the season only wanting to ride the bike, enjoy it and not worry about anything else. Thankfully this is the feeling I had through the whole ride, long may it continue.
With a full field of quality weekly testers it was going to be a challenge. With the temperature hovering between 6-8 degrees and a blustery wind I knew it wasn’t going to be a quick day but the goal was to go as quick as possible.

A good course, you have to work hard for a good time on the clock, however it’s extremely bumpy and your bike plus other nuts and bolts get a good hammering. Luckily we have our second child one the way!
Stopped the clock with a 1:39:08 to sneak the win from Tim Cartwright (Newbury RC) 1:39:29 and Stuart Travis (Team Bottrill/vanguard) 1:41:24 . Great results all round from all who took part. A hard day in the office.
Great organisation on the day, course full of marshals, well signed and a warm hospitality. Thank you Charlotteville CC and Daniel Sharp.
So next week is the Welsh 25 and if anyone gets close to Marcin then pb’s will be on the cards. Thanks for everyone who helps me, you know who you are and how much I appreciate your support. Thanks for reading.
